Seven “simple” projects- Laundry Room

1. Simple Chalkboard Label Jars- 

Make these babies for next to nothing! I got the chalkboard sticker labels at Michaels for $1.00! The jars were spaghetti sauce jars cleaned well and dried. They work well because they have smooth sides for the labels to adhere! I plan on using them to sort and organize any small items from safety pins to change found in the dryer! 😀

2. Framed dry erase Message Board-

This is what I call “Practical Art”! I love the graphic print found in the stone paper I used in the frame. Stone paper is much like wrapping paper but it’s much nicer. It’s even water repellent, so I also used the same paper to line the cabinets! All I did was pick up this large sturdy black frame at a yard sale and tucked it away for just the right project! 🙂 Then I found the stone paper at T.J. Maxx of all places, and cut it to fit the frame! I love the idea of having this dry erase board in the laundry room to be able to list any supplies needed, or leave myself an encouraging quote or verse!

3. Vintage Hanger Art-

Here’s a fun and unique way to hang a tin sign or anything your heart desires! I found this vintage hanger and thought it would be appropriate to use it as decor in the laundry room. I had the vintage tin sign and put the two together!

4. Covered tin cans for the counter top-

This was a fun solution for keeping plastic grocery bags handy dandy. While covering a large coffee can in the stone paper, I decided I might as well make a few more for additional organized storage! I absolutely love having counter space in the laundry room. The goal is to keep everything neat and in it’s place! We’ll see how That goes…! 😉

5. Dandelion painting- inspired by Pinterest! 

A while back I found this idea on Pinterest and absolutely fell in love. It is so easy to paint. The idea is to paint your background first and let it dry. Then, take white paint and paint white lines out from the center of the canvas. Start with wide lines and add thin lines and dots. The dots make it look like the dandelion seeds are being blown away- have fun with this one, I did! 🙂

6. Mason Jar dryer sheet holder-

 Take a box of dryer sheets and fold over into the jar. Pull sheets out from the center- looks great and is conveniently located!

7. Large glass container filled with laundry detergent-

I figured I was more apt to use powder detergent if it were easy to access, so in the jar it went! And I have to say, I really like the look of it on the counter top! I had this glass container and was just waiting for a wonderful way to use it!

This laundry room renovation made such a huge difference and I am thrilled with it! Although we saved a bundle by doing it ourselves, it was still a costly project!

But, you can organize and decorate your laundry room with very little cost…It just takes a little bit of creativity and ingenuity! I think I made everything for under $20.00! These simple things make a big difference for little time and money!

So I suppose the theme is Keeping it Simple when you can!
