~experiencing fulfillment in seeing transformation happen in both the natural, your home, and the spiritual, your inner self~ How creating beauty in your home can stimulate inner spiritual growth!
Although I’ve had touches of animal print in my interior design for many years, there now appears to be an up-roar in the trend!
Home design trends tend to follow in the footsteps of fashion trends, and so I had to research a bit to find out why I’m seeing an upsurge of animal prints in home decor!
This is a bit of what I found!
“With the amount of prints women are now dressing in, leopard really is the ‘new black’,” says stylist Isabel Dupre’, whose equivalent to the little black dress is an Isabel Marant leopard print number she considers her fail-safe go-to. “There is something that reads expensive and “fashion” in the print when it is worn right,” she adds. “Most of the time it’s as timeless as wearing black.”
Well, there you have it, leopard is so popular in fashion, it’s become “the new black”!
It appears that animal prints are a trend that isn’t going away any time soon…
Thought I’d share how I use animal prints in my own home!
One of the newest additions to our home are the gray zebra print curtains.
They are soft in color and subtle in pattern, and go well with everything!
This allows me the freedom to change the decor in our home often!
A smaller scale zebra print in black and white work well for this pillow~
The room is full of various patterns, but similar colors, making it very neutral!
*notice the vintage laundry basket is now holding throws and pillows!
Alligator print is a fun and trendy look for furniture~
Whether it’s on curtains, pillows, furniture or rugs, animal prints are a great way to bring character and interest into a room!
The caution to keep from overdoing it is keeping a balance between the Bold and subtle pieces~
It reminds me of the verse on speaking the truth in love. When there’s a hard truth needing to be spoken, it’s received much easier when it’s spoken in love! Eph. 4:15
It’s All about Balance~
We balance eating healthy, exercising, giving of our time and talents, etc.
Balance in decor, balance in Life… Keeping balance without losing passion and purpose!
As in life, our decor is a process that will need tweaking…but it’s worth the effort! 🙂
Something to think about…
Enjoy the process!
