Mounted Deer Head~ The story of the Sanctuary

Many years ago we were given a Promise. It was that our home was going to be a home in which ministers of the Lord and others would come to be refreshed….

The verse that the Lord gave us for this promise was, “As the deer pants for streams of water, so my soul pants for you, my God.”

Psalm 42:1

Our home would be a place where His Living Water would refresh, restore, revive & renew those who stayed here.

Our home was to be called the Sanctuary!

Many years went by and we didn’t see the promise come to pass, until recently.

Here is a project that was made to represent “The Sanctuary”.

The Promise~ When given the promise we were so excited and looked forward to it soon coming to pass….

We were so disappointed with the delay of the promise that we came close to forgetting all about it. We went through much devastation and loss during those years. We were shaken to the core and at times felt like these circumstances were going to kill us!

The Process~ It was at some point during this season that we realized the possibility that God could be using these devastating circumstances to strengthen and prepare us for the Promise He’d given us.  (Romans 8:28)

We realized that “The Sovereign Lord is my(our) strength; He makes my(our) feet like the feet of a deer. He enables me(us) to go on the heights. Habakkuk 3:19

Over and over again, He was our stability when all else fell apart. We grew closer to Him during this time. We realized we were in a process and that He was faithful to complete the work that He’d begun in us!

This was our Hope, and we held on to it. We held on to Him!

Be encouraged that the longer and harder the “Process” period, most likely, the greater the Promise!

Between the Promise Revealed and the Promise Fulfilled is often a difficult period of trials. They’re different for everyone, but trials none the less!

As we submit to the Lord’s will and His Process, He develops His Purpose in us, so the fulfillment of His Promise may come to pass.

Hebrews 10:23  “Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful.”

I’m so glad that we held on and didn’t give up, for now we are seeing this promise come to pass, and it’s a wonderful thing!

I know we live in a fallen world, and we will continue to experience difficulties. I also know that we are changed and we are stronger for whatever may come!

If you are in the difficult season of Process, I pray that He will be your source of strength and hope and that you will realize that the Promise is coming if you don’t give up!

Be encouraged by this story.

I’ll be posting easy step by step instructions on the Mounted Deer Head soon~

First things first!  🙂

Great story. Thanks for the background on the Sanctuary. I love the song. It reminds me of how I learned to play piano and sing in the 70’s: simple, pure heart worship. Here’s one I like: Just Give Me Jesus.http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l1O_Jf_fdkI
